If you see errors when trying to connect Instagram, it usually means the Instagram account isn’t set up as a professional account (Creator or Business) or it isn’t linked to a Facebook Page yet. Here’s how to fix it in a few minutes.

1) Switch to a Creator account

Instagram connections for creator tools work best with a professional account. You can switch in the Instagram app:

1. Open Instagram → profile menu → Settings & privacy.
2. Tap Account type and tools → Switch to professional account.
3. Select Creator and follow the prompts to finish setup.

If you’re not sure, Instagram’s help center explains professional accounts and who they’re for.

2) Connect your Instagram to a Facebook Page

To finish the connection, Instagram needs to be linked to a Facebook Page you manage. This is required so your creator profile can be recognized by partner apps.

1. In Instagram (on your Creator account), go to Professional dashboard → Account type and tools.
2. Choose Connect or create Facebook Page and select a Page you manage, or create a new one.
3. Confirm the linking and return here to try connecting again.

Facebook’s developer guidance confirms that linking to a Page is needed for creator/business integrations to work.

3) Try connecting again

Come back to Colabz and tap Connect Instagram. If you recently created a Page or switched account types, give it a minute and try once more.

Common gotchas

• You must be an admin of the Facebook Page you're linking.
• Make sure you completed the full switch to Creator (not personal).
• If you manage multiple Pages, pick the Page that's linked to your Instagram.
